Following Christ
How did we get here?

If we look out amongst the current spiritual battlefield, we see an intense need for faithful, pious, educated Christians. We have a heap of uneducated, ill-trained, wavering psuedo-christians. We need a revival from the Spirit of God, and we need people to respond to it with obedience. We are dedicated to starting that here at Michigan Tech, and that’s really the driving part of this story. We need to recover a duty and faithfulness to a God who is always faithful.
Serve The King originally was the theme of the 2022-2023 school year. Brandon and Brandon had been working as Campus Ministers for 5 years but started having some deep theological disagreements with their organization. The Brandon’s both started working on other means of doing ministry on campus. Due to some pushing from alumni, current students, local pastors and some supporters, Brandon Charbonneau (Charb) pursued finishing his seminary degree and continuing the mission concurrently during 2023.This spilled over into February of 2024 when Serve the King Ministries was born. Brandon Charbonneau spent the next few months starting the organization, providing the financial resources to continue, and discipling students while he sought out funding to do it full-time.
“I set out to equip each student within their own denominational understanding to have a reasoned faith. This often gets me a bit of criticism across the board, as I am not interested in pushing one specific denominational position. I want to be cognizant that a healthy church is actually made up of people who agree on the 90% that makes us Christians, and sharpen one another in the 10%. I can’t please everyone, but I can equip the students seeking to know God better and more consistently, supporting the local church and equipping these students in basic apologetics all within this context.”
~Brandon Charbonneau, Founder of STK Ministries
STKs focus now is creating everything possible in order to encourage students and anyone who God provides to our Ministry to be equipped to understand the Bible (grammatical-historical methodology), be able to disciple other students, and rightly divide the word of God without going beyond what the Bible itself says.
