Prayer Requests for Serve The King Ministries
“Prayer is not overcoming God’s reluctance, but laying hold of His willingness.” – Martin Luther
Campus Ministry ThoughtsDear Friends and Supporters, As summer opens doors for faith and outreach, Serve The King Ministries is filled with gratitude for God’s faithful work among us. Over the past few weeks, we’ve launched a transformative 16-week Bible study on the supernatural, hired a web designer to revamp our online presence, intensified fundraising for a new staff member, and prepared for a pivotal licensure examination. Two Weeks of Bible Study on the Supernatural Our 16-week summer Bible study explores the supernatural in Scripture, equipping participants to understand God’s sovereignty over spiritual realities. The first two weeks have been a good start, drawing about a dozen students, to engage deeply with biblical truths about angels and demons. Week 1: History and Origin of Angels and Demons The opening session explored the creation and fall of spiritual beings, emphasizing God’s absolute authority (Colossians 1:16–17). We learned that angels were created before the earth’s foundation (Genesis 1:1; Job 38:4–7) as finite, spiritual beings who worship (Isaiah 6:2–3), protect (Psalm 91:11–12), and serve God’s purposes (Hebrews 1:14). Demons, as fallen angels led by Satan, rebelled and were cast out of heaven (Revelation 12:7–9; Isaiah 14:12–15; Ezekiel 28:12–17), yet remain under God’s control (Job 1:12). The parable of the swept house (Matthew 12:43–45) underscored the need for Christ’s presence to resist demonic influence, assuring believers of protection through the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19). Students addressed false teachings, such as Mormon polytheism’s view of angels as potential gods, using Isaiah 44:6–8 to affirm one God’s sovereignty. Week 2: Nature and Ministry of Angels The second week examined angels’ nature—spiritual, powerful, yet created (Hebrews 1:14)—and their roles as worshipers (Revelation 5:11–12), messengers (Daniel 9:21), protectors (2 Kings 6:17), and warriors (Jude 1:9). We explored Hebrews 13:2, which encourages hospitality because “some have entertained angels unawares,” referencing Abraham (Genesis 18:1–8) and Lot (Genesis 19:1–3). This highlighted God’s providence, as angels, even in disguise, serve His will (Westminster Confession of Faith, Chapter 5.2). Students engaged in a group activity contrasting biblical angels with cultural myths (e.g., New Age spirit guides), fostering discernment. These sessions have sparked vibrant discussions, deepening faith and clarity. Many of the students liked the idea of understanding that God can and does interact with us with these angels. We praise God for the students’ enthusiasm and pray for continued impact as we move to Week 3, the witch of endor, and how some of the New Age and other such stuff is really just witchcraft revamped. Redesigning Our Website with a New Look and Feel We’ve hired a skilled web designer to lead a transformative redesign of our ministry website, aiming to make it more visually appealing and user-friendly. Our current platform struggles with slow load times and instability, limiting outreach. The redesign will feature a modern look, intuitive navigation, and new sections like a devotional blog, a resource hub for study materials, and a streamlined donation portal. This overhaul aligns with our YouTube video and donor video, launching by the end of June, which will share our mission and invite support. The new design will ensure these videos integrate seamlessly, enhancing our online presence. Despite progress, we face challenges with cross-device compatibility and feature integration. We’re trusting God for technical wisdom to complete this project by summer’s end, creating a platform that reflects our mission to serve the King. Your prayers for our web designer and team are vital. Fundraising for a New Staff Member To support our growing ministry, particularly among students, we’re raising $75,000 to hire a full-time staff member focused on teaching and discipleship, covering their salary, health insurance, and additional expenses. This will allow me to focus on evangelism which is my desired roel. This role will strengthen mentorship and engagement. The funds will also support practical needs, such as increasing our pizza order from 8 to 12 pizzas per Bible study meeting to feed growing attendance, and new outreach event ideas to connect with more students. Through online donations and partner commitments, we’ve made progress, but we’re far from our goal. We’re praying for God to stir hearts to give generously and invite you to consider a one-time or recurring gift to expand our Kingdom impact. Preparing for the Licensure Examination I am preparing for a licensure examination on June 5, 2025, a significant step to establish Serve The King Ministries as a trusted presence. The process involves rigorous study of theology, pastoral care, and practical skills, including delivering a small sermon to demonstrate biblical fidelity. This milestone will help me connect with students on a different level of understanding instead of being viewed as just some guy, affirm pastoral credibility to address some parents’ concerns, and strengthen STK’s reputation, opening doors for expanded ministry. I hope you like the new style, I want to make something a bit more consistent for everyone, as I plan to start dividing these up and sending out more based on what books i’m reading or working on with students.
