Summer Update – Never a dull moment
Prayer ListStudents off Campus – Pray for the students now back out in the world that they can be faithful and true. This is one of the hardest transitions for habits and consistency. Ministry Partner Development – We have a seminary graduate who would like to come work under me along with the need for a secretary/admin position so I can be on campus more and less focused on the admin side. The University – We are trying to work with the university to set up some kind of location for students to find someone to pray with/reach out to in times of need. “Faith that does not change your heart will never save your soul.” – Thomas Watson
Campus Ministry ThoughtsOur first summer update! As always, I took the first week off of summer to spend time with my family and get my house in order a bit, getting my the garden for my wife ready, taking out some trees, taking Abigail down to the river, typical dad stuff. It’s a nice little break from the chaos before more picks up again. As we head into summer, we’re excited to share our plans for Serve The King Ministries and how we’ll continue spreading the Gospel to students. Your prayers and support are the heartbeat of this work, and we’re so thankful for your partnership. Here’s a deeper look at what’s coming up: Our Thursday night Bible study will continue this summer for the 5–10 students staying local, offering a space to dive into Scripture and grow in faith. These gatherings are a lifeline for students seeking Jesus, and we’re eager to see how God moves in their hearts. Please pray for deep connections and spiritual growth during these evenings. We’re pumped to join the church league softball season, which is always a fun way to build relationships with students. It’s more than just a game—it’s a chance to show Christ’s love through teamwork and laughter. Pray that these moments on the field open doors for meaningful conversations. This summer, we’re building a Ga-Ga ball pit on campus, a project that’s sure to draw students for fun and fellowship. This space will be a hub for laughter and connection, helping us reach more students with the Gospel. We’re excited to see how God uses this simple structure to foster community. If you’re confused about what a Ga Ga ball pit is, I hear it goes by Octoball as well. We’re hard at work crafting Bible studies for the next academic year, ensuring the Word stays central to our mission. Our goal is to create engaging, Christ-centered content that speaks to students’ lives and draws them closer to Jesus. Your prayers for wisdom in this process are greatly appreciated. We’re prayerfully considering bringing Sion on as an associate campus minister, a step that could amplify our outreach. His passion for students and the Gospel aligns with our vision, and we’re seeking God’s guidance on this potential addition. Please join us in praying for clarity and provision for this role. Sion is a seminary graduate from New Geneva Academy, the same place I am getting my seminary training done. Our dream is to ensure every student hears the Gospel before they graduate, and this summer, we’re rethinking how to make that a reality. We’re exploring creative outreach strategies and partnerships to share Christ’s love more effectively. If you have ideas or insights, we’d love to hear from you! To support these efforts, we’re aiming to raise $250,000 to fund an administrator position and Sion’s potential role. This funding will streamline our operations, freeing us to focus on ministry and reach more students for Christ. The students have continuously asked me when we are going to get a campus house. A campus house is a hub where students can hangout not on campus and have the freedom to talk about the topics they otherwise wouldn’t. Whether its harder questions we have to have answers to or fears they suffer from, and this initiative would also work towards getting a building for that exact purpose. We’re grateful for your generosity and ask for your continued prayers and support. Finally, we’re expanding our prayer initiative to cover the entire campus, making ourselves available to pray with students, faculty, and staff. This is our chance to be a tangible expression of God’s love, meeting people where they are with the power of prayer. We invite you to join us in lifting up the campus community daily. Thank you, dear friends, for walking with us in this mission. Your support means the world, and we’d love to hear from you with any questions or ideas. Let’s keep pressing forward to make disciples for Jesus! In Christ, To God be the Glory Brandon Charbonneau |
