Light in the Darkness

Prayers for the end of February through 3/9 – Delayed for good reason (I promise)

Prayer List

Lecture on Campus – We are hosting a Lecture on 4/3 titled “Christianity: Light for a World Without Answers”. This lecture is our response to the negativity, the suicides, the darkness that has enveloped campus, it’s our way of fighting back with light. I will need prayers for my prep, boldness, and for God to bring sensitive hearers.

The University – We have enacted a big prayer initiative on Campus, using the flyers below. The goal is to become known as the group who seeks God in prayer. Pray for the university as we do this, setting out to pray on campus for people and make it known He is the God of answered prayers.

Board of Directors – The Board is encouraged by our one year of working, the trajectory, the work we are doing, the response we’ve gotten from other organizations. Prayer for the Board and their continued leadership and direction for this Ministry.

Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will never walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.” So the Pharisees said to Him, “You are bearing witness about Yourself; Your witness is not true.” Jesus answered and said to them, “Even if I bear witness about Myself, My witness is true, for I know where I came from and where I am going; but you do not know where I come from or where I am going. You judge according to the flesh; I am not judging anyone. But even if I do judge, My judgment is true; for I am not alone in it, but I and the Father who sent Me. Even in your law it has been written that the witness of two men is true. I am He who bears witness about Myself, and the Father who sent Me bears witness about Me.”

Campus Ministry Thoughts

I apologize for the week long absence, I was working diligently to hone the documentation, create all the advertising, try to get everything in order for all the admin work that had been building up. We’ve seen a tremendous amount of fruit this semester in our students and it often drives me away from diligence in administrative things.

Specifically the heart that has been cultivated for campus, the desires the students are growing for the Experiential Christianity we teach. The prayer initiative was a student, the idea of thee lecture as a response to the suicides this school year, I am very encouraged to see them trying to find real ways to provide hope.

My wife continues to pick up my slack, and I’m grateful for things such as the Tea Party she is hosting for our ladies this weekend and her helping to keep me from getting too lost in the work that needs to be done.

There’s a lot coming up, with Advance on March 17th, the Lecture, Easter, studying for Seminary and my Licensing Exams. It can be busy alongside the meeting with students and discipling them, and I want to thank you all for your continued prayer and financial support. Campuses are the place to be to reach people, and I’m glad to be serving here.
